With only chords to work with, I can't do this if I don't know the tune. I can usually create a chord melody on the spot, so if I have a real chart, we get a nice, professional sounding intro on the fly. So, when I came up with the video recently where I said that using iReal Pro with fake books to learn jazz standards is bad advice, you can imagine not everybody liked hearing that.
